- מְרָרִיתָא
- מְרָרִיתָאf. ch., pl. מְרַרְיָתָא = h. מָרוֹר, a bitter herb, prob. succory. Succ.13a הני מ׳ דאגמאוכ׳ that succory of the marsh. Ib. הני מ׳ סתמא שמייהווכ׳ the name of that plant is plain mraritha, and the reason why they name it ‘m. of the marsh is, because it is frequent in marshes. Pes.39a (expl. מרור) מ׳ דאגמא Ms. M. (ed. only מרירתא, read מררי׳). Ib. הוה מהדר אמררתא ed. (corr. acc., as in Tosaf. to Succ. l. c.; Ms. M. 2 אמְרַרְיָיתָא דדברא) took pains to get mraritha (of the field).
